Starting her career in Chartered Accounting and Financial Controller positions both here in New Zealand and London, Kerry was led into the fascinating world of Entertainment Licensing. This involved bringing together local manufacturers/wholesalers and international film and television studios to market products, utilising international entertainment brands via royalty agreements.
This was the beginning of Kerry’s passion for brands, given her exposure to the world of cartoon characters and feature films.
Later, Kerry took up a position with TVNZ Enterprises, the entrepreneurial arm of TVNZ. Kerry relished the opportunity to grow the business, maximising profits and generating value from the off and on-air programme brands and ancillary rights, representing studios like ABC, BBC, Nickelodeon and Fox.
With an opportunity to return to London and learn more about New Media and Digital Television, Kerry spent 6 months abroad as a commercial analyst for a UK pay television company.
Returning to New Zealand, Kerry contracted her services to TVNZ and Auckland Zoo, charged with the responsibility of website content improvement, sponsorship management and other initiatives including development of brand manuals, fundraising initiatives, grant application and image licensing strategies. Work for other client’s included financial modeling, media advertising, trademark brand protections, development of licensee and brand manuals.
A key client for Kerry has been Annabel Langbein, a leading NZ cook book writer who she supported through business development strategies, publicity and marketing.
